I want to start this off by first of all just saying wow. 2017 was an absolutely amazing year for Glue Digital Studio – something I had always hoped for but could have never anticipated just how fantastic it was. We worked with some absolutely fantastic brands and organisations, developed countless websites and built the team up so we could continue to provide our fantastic service well into 2018. I’d like to say the year really came in two parts though – so here’s how it all went down.
The year started off by working on a CRM system for Interserve PLC, building a Hall Of Fame website for Cardiff Metropolitan University, redeveloping the events section of the Visit Cardiff website developing a number of games for Language Skills and teaching children in Aberdare the importance of creative thinking – to name some of the bigger projects we did. Then we took a breather – I had my first baby girl and took a bit to spend with her in her first few weeks.
When I came back to work though, things escalated at a phenomenal rate. We started working with the Royal Mint to assist their design team in any digital solutions, we rebuilt the PetrolPrices brochure site to make it more user friendly, we started working with Hodge Bank to launch a website aimed specifically at their brokers and we launched our support and maintenance service – which has seen a fantastic rate of adoption.
Because of all of this activity in the second half of the year I decided it was time to grow the business from a Me into a We. Enter James Amner – an old friend of mine and probably one of the smartest people I know – and Carol Wilkins – another very good friend of mine with one of the most creative minds in the business. They joined the team as Technical and Creative directors respectively.
So this is where we enter 2018 – with a fresh new website, new members of the team and a whole load more capacity to take on even more projects. I’m confident that the people I’ve brought on board will help grow the business to new heights – without compromising the ethos of the company or the customer service we have become famed for.
